I've had Kitty for 8 years and this is the first I've seen this happening. She keeps trying to vomit, the poor thing heaves but nothing is coming up but a little liquid and foam. I gave her a dose of Kitty malt, thinking if its a hair ball, maybe that would help her pass it. Often she eats and then vomits but that doesn't seem to be the case this time.

Any suggestions on what I can do to help her feel better.

It seems as though Miss Kitty may just have a cold and she's trying to get rid of hte congestion. Last night while sleeping, she occasionally sounded congested. And I watched her this morning...just like a person, trying to bring that congestion up. Nothing oozing from the nose or eyes...I'll just have to keep an eye on her.

In my opinion, you really need to get Miss Kitty to a vet. Congestion is no simple matter with cats. It can become pneumonia very quickly. Even if she seems better, she may not be.

Really this can be very serious. If the cat is vomiting liquid and foam, it is bile. Could be a sign of many things including infection, stomatitis, cholangiohepatitis, and many other problems. Please, get the cat to a vet, where they will probably do both blood and urine tests.

HI I'm sorry Kitty's not feeling well. I"m not sure this will be of any help but look in her mouth and see if you see anything, they can get a straw from a broom or a string caught in the teeth that they can't get up or down, this happened to my dog and I got the string out and he was fine. This may need a vet visit. There is just no telling what they get into when were not home.

Apparently Kitty just had a hair ball and was having trouble getting it to come up. She's been fine ever since. I've since started giving her Kitty Malt on a regular basis.
